  • The film belongs to the science-fiction, action and film noir genre.
  • The font of 'Blade Runner' indicates the science-fiction genre because when the film was released (1982), this particular font style represented the 80s science-fiction genre. In present, It gives off a retro vibe.

  • The movie belongs to the comedy, parody horror and spoof- horror genre.
  • The sentence at the top of the poster suggests that it is a comedy as it states: "Absolutely Hilarious!".
  • The writing on the women's shirt says " I love dead people" which is an intertextual reference from a classic horror movie.
  • The black cat symbolises bad luck and also has ties with the supernatural therefore, it hints that the movie has some horror aspects to it.
  • I believe that the target audience for this movie is 18+ as some kids may be sensitive to horror aspects and some of the comedy, may be inappropriate.

UZAK:
I think the movie is about a man who is alone and has no family. The storyline may be about how he travels and survives through the struggles in life

The movie belongs to the drama, world cinema and foreign language (as people in Britain would say) genre
The industrial setting, lake and snow suggest that it may be set in a dystopian setting and may also be set and filmed in Russia/ Eastern Europe
The movie may also be an autobiography as it says it's a real masterpiece which makes it more relatable and comfortable for the audience.
The movie also seems like it has a clear moral at the end due to all of the awards the movie has won.

I think the movie is about a boy who faces his fears to try to defeat the villain in the movie.
The movie belongs to the mystery, crime, thriller and drama genre.
The contrast between the clear blue sky and the dark deep hole symbolises a sense of hope, and that everything will be ok.
The writing "I'm Not Scared", contains flames which suggests that there is going to be an element of gore and possibly death throughout the movie.
The target audience for this movie is 12+ because It can be seen as a movie that teaches a young audience to be strong and courageous as well as end the movie with a moral.

Sin City:

I think this movie is about a corrupted city with high crime rates and criminals and it is up to the five people on the film poster to save the city.
The movie belongs to the following genres: crime and thriller
The facial expressions on all of their faces suggests that they have some sort of power and are ready to fight any battles ahead.
The rain creates an uncanny and unearthly atmosphere which suggests that the movie is quite dark and mysterious
The undertone of black also creates this dark ambience
The writing in red also emphasises and enhances the genres of crime and thriller

See the source imageI think the film may be about the pirate with the gun who has to battle a creature with the help of the other two in the poster.
The movie belongs to the following genres: adventure, action, fantasy, swashbuckler and hints of comedy
The skull with the fire sticks in the middle of the movie name emphasise the pirate theme on a much deeper level
The facial expressions on all of their faces suggests that they are quite momentous
The idea of taking  childhood emblems such as pirates and ships and turning it into something slightly darker and more fantastical is quite impressive

Bride and Prejudice:

Image result for bride and prejudiceI think this movie is about a group of people who are yet to get married through arranged marriage, but one couple choose to marry at their own choosing and so the movie follows the main protagonist's (in the film poster) life together.
The movie belongs to the following genres: Romance, comedy, drama, musical and comedy music.
This movie is a Bollywood movie and was filmed in parts of India as well as England.
The crystal blue sky gives off a beatific ambience. In addition to this, as the man and woman are faced away from each other, it's as if they are complete strangers however, the sky represents positivity and hope and also suggests how these two become one.
I think the target audience for this movie is 12+ as there are no flashing images or swearing in the contents of the movie

Million Dollar Baby:

I think this movie is about a woman who is facing some struggles in her life and has a true passion for boxing. The  movie then continues with how she fights these problems so that she is able to pursue her dream of becoming a boxer.
The overall atmosphere is quite dark and it also indicates how strong of a fighter the woman is.
The shadow of her muscles on her body also enhances her strength
The movie belongs to the following genres: drama and sport
The contrast of the white letters in the title and background suggests that although there is some dullness in the woman's life, there is a sense of hope. The writing also stands out to create an overall empowering impression.
The fact that this film poster doesn't contain much content and is quite simple can be seen as a deliberate choice that the designers decided to choose because the simplicity speaks for itself. They are getting their message across through this directness
The movie can also been seen as one with a moral: to keep fighting and never give up
I think the target audience for this movie is 13+ as it can be quite inspiring and enlightening for a younger audience.
